Royal Imtech was technology partner of the Turanor PlanetSolar, the largest ship in the world powered by solar energy which in May became the first boat to circumnavigate the globe using only the solar power. After an 18-month voyage, the ship, covered in 537 square metres of solar panels, arrived back at its Monaco departure location.

Covering a 2.9 hectare plot at Wheal Jane, the solar park (developed with PV system supplier Solar Century and funded by Octopus Investments) will generate 1,437 MWh /year from 5,700 modules
