Linear's -55°C to 150°C Operating Junction Temperature Flyback Controllers

Linear Technology Corporation announces the high reliability (MP-grade) version of the LTC3805/-5, a programmable frequency flyback controller that operates over a -55°C to 150°C junction temperature range. This high-performance shunt regulated input voltage PWM (pulse width modulation) controller enables for wide input voltages ranging from 5V to off-line applications and is ideal for users requiring one power supply for both 48V and 24V nominal input systems. The LTC3805/-5 has a current-mode control architecture that provides excellent transient response and cycle-by-cycle current limit while simplifying feedback loop stability. Fixed frequency operation is from 70kHz to 700kHz and can be synchronized to an external clock. The low start-up (40μA) and operating currents (360μA) minimize power loss and improve efficiency. Its low 100mV current-limit threshold further reduces power loss. Additional features include adjustable soft start, programmable slope compensation, remote on/off and overvoltage protection. The LTC3805MP-5 features a lower turn-on voltage of 4.5V versus 8.4V for the LTC3805MP. Summary of Features: LTC3805MP/-5
