TEE (Toshiba Electronics Europe) has three new additions to its portfolio supporting the TransferJet close-proximity wireless-transfer standard: a TransferJet-enabled SDIO module, TransferJet-enabled microSDIO card, and TransferJet-enabled USB adaptor module. These products will simplify deployment of TransferJet technology for high-speed wireless transfer of large multimedia files between computers, tablets, phones, and a wide variety of consumer electronics productssimply by touching two devices together. Toshiba has combined advanced RF-CMOS LSI processes with the company's experience in HF design and system integration to deliver the new high-performance, miniature TransferJet products. These technologies provide OEMs with a rapid path to implementing TransferJet capabilities in new applications and developing accessories that add TransferJet communications to existing products. TransferJet-Enabled SDIO IC Module (TJM35420XLG) In addition to its transceiver IC offering, Toshiba has created the TJM35420XLG TransferJet SDIO IC module, which simplifies implementation and addresses design challenges associated with compact consumer electronics products. The SDIO IC module measures only 4.8 x 4.8 x1.0 mm, minimizing mounting footprint in smartphones and other portable devices. The TransferJet IC module integrates the Toshiba TransferJet transceiver IC, RF components and a crystal oscillator. A software development kit is also available. TransferJet-Enabled microSDIO Card (TJM35420USG) The TJM35420USG TransferJet-enabled microSDIO card can be inserted into a variety of compact, portable products such as smartphones and tablets. The microSDIO card simplifies implementation by integrating a TransferJet transceiver IC, a TransferJet coupler, RF components, and a crystal oscillator into a single part. A software development kit is also available. TransferJet USB Adaptor (TJM35420UXG) The Toshiba TransferJet USB adaptor supports the quick and easy addition of TransferJet communications to larger consumer electronics products including notebooks, PCs, and televisions. The adaptor integrates a TransferJet transceiver IC, a TransferJet coupler, RF components, and a crystal oscillator. Availability Toshiba's TransferJet SDIO module begins sampling in the fourth quarter of 2012, with mass production beginning in the first quarter of 2013. The microSDIO card and the USB adaptor module will be available in the first quarter of 2013. Toshiba Semiconductor and Storage Products
