Texas Instruments Incorporated expanded its 1.8-V precision operational amplifier (op amp) portfolio with a new line of op amps for low-noise, high-impedance sensor measurement. The first product in the OPAx320 family, the two-channel OPA2320, provides 20MHz of gain bandwidth and 0.2pA input bias current (Ib) to enable very high accuracy and dynamic range for high-impedance optical and chemical sensor front ends, programmable logic controllers, motor control loops, and test and measurement equipment. For more information and to order an OPA2320 sample, visit www.ti.com/opa2320-preu. Key features and benefits The OPAx320 family features the most power-efficient, wideband, low-noise precision op amps from TI.

  • Offer a maximum input bias current of 0.9 pA to support high-impedance sensor signal conditioning.
  • Deliver precision with zero crossover distortion, delivering a maximum offset voltage of 150 uV, high common mode rejection rate of 114 dB and rail-to-rail input/output to drive low-power, successive approximation (SAR) analog-to-digital converters (ADCs), such as TI's ADS8319, ADS8327 and ADS7279, up to 1 MSPS.
  • Combine low noise of 7nV/?Hz at 10 kHz and wide gain-bandwidth of 20 MHz at a low quiescent current of 1.45 mA per channel for use as an active filter in automated test equipment.
Tools and support TI offers a variety of free tools and support to speed development with the OPAx320 family, including:
  • A SPICE model for designing, testing, and troubleshooting a broad variety of basic and advanced circuits, including complex architectures, without any node or number of device limitations.
  • Software for analysis, application and calculation utilities, including Analog Filter Designer, FilterPro, and calculators for decibel, frequency/wavelength and op amp gain stage.
Availability and pricing The OPA2320 is available now in a 3-mm x 4.9-mm MSOP-8 package. Suggested retail pricing starts at $1.25 for 1,000-unit quantities. 4.9-mm x 6-mm SOIC-8 and 3-mm x 3-mm SON-8 package options will be available in March. The single-channel OPA320 will be available in April in a 3.9-mm x 2.8-mm SOT23-5 package. Suggested retail pricing starts at $0.80 for 1,000-unit quantities. www.ti.com
