ANSI C136.41 dimming receptacle

TE Connectivity debuted its ANSI C136.41 compliant solution for the electrical and mechanical interconnection between a photo control cell and a street lighting luminaire at the Light+Building show. The ANSI C136.41 dimming receptacle is pre-configured with wire leads to allow for ease of integration into a new or existing outdoor lighting fixture.

TE is offering the ANSI C136.41 compliant dimming receptacle along with mating spring leaf contacts which are ideal for controlled outdoor and commercial lighting. The receptacles incorporate two or four signal connections along with the standard, proven ANSI C136.10 compliant twist-lock power connections that provide one or two channel photocell dimming capabilities within street lights. Mating spring leaf contacts are available for customer-designed photocontrol assemblies. Ample documentation is available to enable easy spring leaf contact integration into customer designs.

“The ANSI C136.41 compliant receptacle enables dimming capabilities and more intelligent controls in street lighting that ultimately reduce energy costs,” says Alex Hunt, product manager, TE Intelligent Buildings. “The receptacles provide a standardized interface that facilitates flexible, unparalleled control of street lighting when used with new or soon-to-be-released photo control modules.”

The ANSI C136.41 dimming receptacle is available with 105°C and 150° C rated wire insulation for various temperature graded luminaires. The receptacles meet dimensional requirements for ANSI C136.41-200x, as well as ANSI C136.10. There are two mechanical versions of the receptacles offered to manufacturers: a 5 position with three power contacts and two dimming contacts, and a 7 position with three power contacts and four dimming contacts. The power contacts can withstand voltages up to 480VAC/DC, and the dimming contacts up to 1A 600VAC/DC.
