Decorated with the 2010 red dot design award and nominated for the 2011 Design Award of the Federal Republic of Germany: the "Lavano" luminaire range designed by Helmut Heinrich.

RZB, one of Germany's leading luminaire manufacturers, has fitted its new "Lavano" series with OSRAM products. One of the hallmarks of the Seamless T5 HE fluorescent lamp is its compact design combined with high efficiency, transcending the limitations of traditional fluorescent tubes: thanks to its special geometry, it provides a seamless band of light without disruptive shadows. Because of its clear style elements and well thought-out details, the "Lavano" luminaire series by designer Helmut Heinrich was recently presented with the red dot design award and has been nominated for the 2011 Design Award of the Federal Republic of Germany. The luminaire from the "Design by RZB" range is constructed in such a way that its full area can be completely used for lighting. The body consists of three small rectangles, the two outer ones being illuminated. The wall luminaire is fitted with Seamless T5 fluorescent tubes by OSRAM and two diffusers to direct and distribute the light. Because they are tapered at the top, an indirect amount of light is reflected from the ceiling, thus ensuring comprehensive illumination. Since the front section of the wall luminaire is elliptically domed, the diffusers create a brilliantly sparkling light effect along the alignment. With its discreet elegance, "Lavano" luminaires are used in decorative and architecturally driven environments such as hotels, restaurants or offices furnished to the highest standards. "Lavano" is built on a modular design and can be easily adapted to specific requirements. It is currently available in lengths of 300, 900 and 1,200 mm, with one or two diffusers, and fitted with a range of different lamps. Light without shadows The Seamless T5 fluorescent lamp as part of the OSRAM Lumilux series responds to the intention of the "Lavano" to use the entire luminaire for illumination. This is made possible thanks to the special construction of the holder in combination with the T5 seamless geometry: both ensure seamless bands of light without unwanted interruptions through shadows or dark spots between individual luminaires. For the Seamless lamps, the minimum distance between two lamps is a mere 5 mm - in contrast with a standard T5 lamp which requires four times as much. The luminaire specifically designed for T5 Seamless provides high intensity of illumination and the same effectiveness as T8 lamps, but in a much more compact size. The Seamless T5 HE stands apart for its high degree of luminous efficacy of up to 104 lm/W (at 35° C). It is designed for EB operation and up to 20% more economic than Luminux T8 lamps. Their full dimmability provides a wealth of options for mood lighting in addition to even greater energy savings.
