The PCIM Europe Conference 2017 takes place from 16 – 18 May 2017, and covers with its conference program a wide range of topics including recent developments in power semiconductors, passive components, thermal management products, energy storage, sensors and new materials. The comprehensive offer ranges from components, to drive electronics and packaging up to the final intelligent system. Experts from international renowned research institutes and companies will present the latest product innovations and research findings in over 300 oral and poster presentations and look into the future of power electronics.
In the focus of the conference: application knowledge around power electronics
The presented contents are user- and industry-oriented. Conference participants can look forward to three keynote speeches on “Evolution in Topologies as a Result of New Devices and Enabling Technologies”, “The Smart Future of Power Electronics and its Applications” and “E-Mobility”. Further highlights are the special sessions on: “Passive Components“, “Capacitors” and “Smart Grid & Communication”. In addition, experts from industry and academia give room for discussion and are available for questions.
On the two days prior to the official beginning of the conference, industry specialists will share their knowledge in seven seminars and eleven tutorials on topics such as “New Trends in Power Conversion for Very High Efficiency and High Power Density”, “Design Challenges for High Frequency Magnetic Circuit Design for Power Conversion” or “High Performance Control of Power Converters”. In the full day tutorial “Driving Electric - Power Train, Battery, Wireless Charging and Autonomous Driving”, Nejila Parspour from the University of Stuttgart, addresses the topic of electromobility and provides a holistic overview of the state of the art in electric driving. The tutorial aims at showing the newest trends in research and technology. In particular, “Electric Drives of Hybrid and Battery Electric Vehicles” will be presented and the three battery technologies - Li-Ion, Li-Metal and Redox-Flow - will be explained.
Industry, exhibitor and e-mobility forum: additional platform for knowledge transfer
The exhibition, which takes place simultaneously offers a varied program in three different forums. Associations, experts from specialized media as well as speakers from renowned companies discuss scientific issues within the area of power electronics which are moving the sector at present. For instance Pierric Gueguen, Yole Développement, talks about “Status and Perspectives in Power Semiconductor Business” and Richard Reiner, Fraunhofer Institute for Applied Solid State Physics IAF from Germany will address the subject “Monolithically-Integrated GaN Circuits”. The exhibitor forum enables visitors to inform themselves during all three exhibition days within twenty-minute presentations about product highlights in the power electronics sector. In addition, the PCIM Europe 2017 presents for the first time an e-mobility forum and offers visitors the opportunity to acquire leading know-how in all areas related to electromobility.
