The Energy Department's National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) is accepting applications for its 2015 Executive Energy Leadership Academy. NREL's Executive Energy Leadership Academy, also known as Energy Execs, is a program which enables decision-makers throughout the country to learn about renewable energy and energy efficiency technologies, analytical tools and financing. Leaders in the private sector, communities, non-profits and government are eligible to participate in the program.

There are two Energy Execs learning opportunities - the Leadership Program and the Leadership Institute. Both are designed to provide executive decision-makers with information and tools to guide their organizations and communities in energy-related planning.

Candidates may apply for one of two programs. NREL's Leadership Program is a traditional, comprehensive program for executives interested in an in-depth exploration of renewable energy and energy efficiency technologies, applications, and issues. This program requires travel to Golden, Colorado, and attendance once a month for five months. It includes five two-day or three-day sessions completed May through September.

NREL's Leadership Institute is a shorter, condensed program that includes one four-day workshop session in April.

"Industry, academia and government rely on leaders with vision and drive to make the transition to a sustainable, secure, energy future," NREL Director Dan Arvizu said. "NREL's Energy Execs programs play an important role in bringing those leaders together to learn about what is possible and to strategize about market-viable solutions."

Participants will be selected from a national pool of candidates. Since 2007, representatives from more than 200 industry, government, and non-profit organizations have completed the program.

Apply online at Leadership Program and Leadership Institute or via fax or mail.
