Newark element14 and Eaton launch custom switch design service

    05/06/2016

Electronics distributor Newark element14, together with components manufacturer Eaton, is launching a custom design service for electrical rocker switches. The new Custom Switches program offers the ability to create tailor-made Eaton NGR and SVR Rocker Switches in a variety of colors with custom logos and imaging.

Switches can be ordered in any quantity (with no minimum requirement) and ready for use within days. This service is ideal for industrial design engineers looking to build one customized switch for prototyping or repair purposes (instead of being required to place a mass order for general devices.) Eaton’s field-proven line of rocker switches maximizes operational efficiency and increases machine uptime for vehicle and other industrial applications.

Initially developed for the trucking industry, the NGR line can be used on a wide range of vehicles and features a European-styled, two-face rocker made of high-quality thermoplastic material. The SVR (Sealed Vehicle Rocker) switch is designed to accommodate the extreme working environments of construction and agricultural vehicles, and its front and back sealing meets IP68 requirements.

All custom switches are built and tested in Newark element14’s in-house, ISO 9001:2008-certified laboratories. The electronics distributor also offers modification facilities in Chandler, Ariz. with on-site print capabilities and state-of-the-art graphic technology, and boasts a quick turnaround time.
