The newest Wide Trim CoolMods, CmM-CmQ, for the CoolX Series

FORT COLLINS, Colo.—Excelsys Technologies Ltd., an Advanced Energy company, announces the upcoming release of four new modules which further expands the CoolMod offering. The CmM, CmN, CmP & CmQ are the latest modules, offering wide trim solutions in the CoolX series of convection cooled modular configurable power supplies.

The new CmM, CmN, CmP & CmQ CoolMod power module can deliver up to 200W power in the CX600 and up to 300W in the CX1800. The Wide Trim range complements the existing range of CmA-D modules with the same output power rating, but a wider output voltage range. The CmM can deliver 105W in the CX600, or 150W in the CX1800, and has a trimmable voltage range of 1V to 6V. The CmN can deliver 180W in the CX600 or 280W in the CX1800, and has a trimmable voltage range of 1V to 15V. The CmP and CmQ can deliver 200W in the CX600 and up to 300W in the CX1800. The CmP has a wide output voltage range of 1V to 28V, while the CmQ has an incredible range of 3V to 58V.

The Excelsys CoolX series offers system integrators unparalleled flexibility with analogue and digital management with PMBus monitoring and control capability and is user field configurable with Plug and Play power. All outputs are isolated and may be connected in series or parallel to achieve higher output voltages or currents. Mounting options include base, side and DIN Rail alternatives. This latest addition to the CoolX and CoolMod family significantly increases flexibility while significantly reducing total cost through reduced component count and simplifying configuration and system integration.

The modules in conjunction with the appropriate CoolX Chassis, support both IEC60950 and IEC62386 for industrial applications and IEC60601-1 3rd edition & IEC60601-1-2 4th edition (EMC) for medical applications. Other medical features include the ability to meet the related electrical medical BF rating (Body Floating) requirements, 2 x MOPP as well as the ability to conform to these safety certification requirements at 5000-meter altitude.

Typical applications include medical equipment such as clinical chemistry/diagnostic, medical lasers, surgical robotics, imaging and life science equipment. Other applications include test and measurement, automation equipment, printing, and well as operation in harsh environments, such as naval and ground-based radar, communications and test and measurement.
