Mouser Electronics announced some very special ‘guest stars’ on its booth at Embedded World (Nuremburg Messe, Hall 4A-101). Microchip is demonstrating its new MPLAB Xpress IDE and development board. This is significant as it takes their development environment (IDE) into the cloud. It contains the most popular features of Microchip’s award-winning desktop MPLAB X IDE and enables users to easily transition between the two environments. MPLAB Xpress incorporates the latest version of MPLAB Code Configurator, which enables users to automatically generate initialization and application C code for 8-bit microcontrollers using a graphical interface and pin map.
According to Mark Patrick, Mouser’s Supplier Marketing & Business Development Manager EMEA, “MPLAB Xpress is a perfect starting point for new users of PIC Microcontrollers - no downloads, no machine configuration, and no waiting to get started on your system development. Mouser is the only high service distributor to offer this development platform and we are giving away 100 boards on a lucky dip on the stand."
NXP’s new ‘Hexiwear’ wearable technology demo kit, developed by MikroElektronika in partnership with NXP, will also be prominent on Mouser’s booth. Hexiwear is a one-stop, open-source solution for taking your data from sensors to the cloud. Using a sleek, wearable watch form factor, Hexiware can be customized with additional sensors to connect faster and smarter. There is a corresponding app which enables the output of the sensing technology within the watch to be viewed.
Red Pitaya’s CEO and co-founder, Rok Mesar, will demonstrate the unique capabilities of its powerful open-source software development platform for test and measurement applications. The Red Pitaya product line is designed to help people learn programming and create designs ranging from
Simple DIY projects (such as automated lighting and alarm systems) to professional testing equipment. The board is available as a standalone item or included in a starter kit or diagnostic kit), and the reconfigurable, open-source software platform can effectively replace thousands of dollars' worth of bench equipment.
These are just a few highlights: come to the booth for much, much more.
