Kerite, a leading manufacturer of high quality insulated utility and industrial power cable, will highlight their full line of high voltage (HV) power cable and Underwater Specialty Cable at the 2013 NWPPA/APA Alaska Electric Utility Conference, held October 28-31 at the Dena'ina Civic & Convention Center in Anchorage, Alaska. In addition to proven reliability, Kerite cables offer exceptional customizability to meet the needs of any project. Kerite will be at exhibit booth #308. Kerite's HV cable is available in voltages ranging from 46kV thru 138kV and -- offered with either copper or aluminum conductors -- Kerite HV power cables come with hundreds of options for conductor size, material, voltage, insulation system, metallic shielding, and jacket material. Thus, whether directly buried or in conduits, Kerite's HV cable is ideal for a wide variety of electrical transmission system applications, including internal substation bus connections, capacitor bank hook ups, congested transmission easements, power plant feeders, as well as river and bridge crossings and industrial manufacturing facilities. The cables' unique insulation system ensures the ultimate in cable reliability. The specially formulated discharge resistant ethylene propylene rubber DR-EPR® insulation has electrical, mechanical, thermal, and chemical properties that guarantee long-term field performance. This insulation is proven to operate in even the wettest environments. In addition, Kerite's HV cable is the most flexible in the industry, guaranteeing easier installation and racking in the field. Kerite's Underwater Specialty Cable also features specialized EPR insulation, designed to allow the cables to operate underwater without the need for an impervious barrier such as a lead sheath, which makes installation easier and more cost-efficient. The cable also offers an additional polyethylene jacket and features stranded, filled 5kV-35kV copper conductors, shielded by a non-conducting Permashield® stress control layer and a copper tape or concentric wire metallic shield. Galvanized steel armor wires with individual HDPE jacketing offer additional protection. Kerite also offers a variety of options for custom builds. Optional 10 mil Bronze Tape for teredo protection, an optional separate copper grounding wire, and an optional fiber optic member are available. The cable can also be customized further to meet the specific needs of utilities, industrial contractors, and suppliers. Kerite Alaska Electric Utility Conference
