After the bitter news of the death of Linear's Jim Williams, our community is dealt another cruel blow with the sad news of the death of analog industry Guru, Bob Pease. Bob was killed in a car crash on 18 June 2011 after attending the memorial service of Jim Williams. I remember Bob from my time at National Semiconductor. He was always great fun and an exciting individual to work with. There was never a dull moment when working with him on his hugely popular seminars in Europe. Engineers would line up just for the opportunity to talk with this great man. He was always there for them; passionately scribbling circuit solutions and explaining complex design issues with a generosity I had not seen before or since. Bob Pease was born in 1940 in Rockville, Connecticut. He attended Mount Hermon School and graduated from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1961 with a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering. Bob will be sadly missed, but remembered by thousands of engineers he helped and inspired.
