Emerson Network Power, a global leader in maximizing availability, capacity and efficiency of critical infrastructure, announced a collaboration between its Electrical Reliability Services business and North Carolina-based Primary Integration Solutions (PI). The two industry-leading companies join resources to provide data center customers around the world with an innovative approach to data center commissioning services and NETA-certified acceptance testing.
This partnership strategically positions Emerson Network Power and PI to support the evolving needs of data center customers that are looking for innovative solutions to improve speed to market while reducing costs. “Acceptance testing is one of the most critical parts of a data center project, it has the potential to significantly impact a project, from both a cost and schedule perspective,” said Tom Nation, vice president and general manager of Emerson Network Power’s Electrical Reliability Services. “Fundamentally changing the way we design and execute data center projects by bringing acceptance testing to the forefront of the planning process makes the most sense for our customers. Not only will this change help streamline the process and avoid project delays, it can deliver significant cost savings of up to 10 percent on the combined cost of commissioning and acceptance testing services on a project.”
Emerson Network Power has been providing acceptance testing services for data center and industrial customers for more than 40 years. The addition of PI’s data center commissioning capabilities expands the company’s reach both regionally and globally. By working with PI in the earliest stages of a project, Emerson’s Electrical Reliability Services team is able to tailor acceptance testing specifications to the size, complexity, and criticality of each data center ensuring the right test and verification activities are performed at the right time—delivering a higher level of availability, improved safety, and better project efficiency.
A fully commissioned data center, along with a comprehensive program of best practices in operations and maintenance, provides greater availability, safety, and efficiency while reducing project and operating costs throughout a data center’s life cycle. “Adding best-in-class electrical testing from NETA-certified technicians to our proven commissioning expertise in the beginning of a project ensures our customers’ facilities are operational, on time, and on budget with system optimization,” said Shawn Till, CEO, Primary Integration. “While we are confident that this is a win-win partnership for both companies, we know the real winners are the customers.”
