Power management company Eaton will be showcasing its extensive range of versatile IT solutions as the essential “fifth element” of converged infrastructure at Data Centre World in February. Visitors to the Eaton stand (H40) will have the opportunity to see demonstrations of Eaton’s VMware Ready Intelligent Power Manager (IPM) software, as well as its latest high-efficiency 93PM and 9PX UPS systems, together with versatile ePDU power distribution products. Also on show will be the Delta³ rack and containment platform from the B-Line By Eaton division, featuring integrated high density cooling, access control and environmental monitoring.
Visitors who have their badges scanned on the stand will be entered automatically into a competition to win an Apple iPad Air and those who complete a short questionnaire will also have the chance to win a Power Tour at Eaton’s factory in Espoo, Finland, a 9PX UPS or a free on-site survey to help improve the efficiency of their data centre in line with the EU code of conduct.
“We’ve chosen to present our products at Data Centre World as the fifth element of data centre infrastructure because power systems are indisputably the foundation on which every IT installation is built,” said Jorma Mannerkoski, Vice President, Sales Northern Europe, Eaton’s Electrical Sector. “And we believe that our fully integrated scalable solutions are the key to simplifying power deployment in virtualised environments, thereby providing data centre operators with the protection of the highest possible standard for their valuable equipment and data.”
Visitors to the stand will be able to see how Eaton’s IPM software links directly to different layers of converged infrastructure and is compatible with vCenter and XenCenter management systems, all major hypervisors, NetApp storage devices and Cisco UCS Manager. This means that IPM can readily coordinate the response of the whole IT installation to power events.
Eaton’s new 93PM modular UPS system specifically developed to reduce CapEx in data centres by supporting a “pay-as-you-grow” approach will also be on the stand. These innovative UPSs have an unmatched double-conversion efficiency of 97%, which increases to 99% or more in ESS (energy saver system) mode. Alongside the 93PM Eaton will be featuring its 9PX UPSs, which are available with ratings up to 11 kVA and are ideally suited to provide affordable, efficient and future-proof power protection in computer rooms and small data centres.
For the first time, the Eaton stand at DCW will also highlight equipment from the company’s B-Line By Eaton division, including the Delta³ IT enclosure system, which has been designed to minimise operating and lifecycle costs while optimising the operating environment for the equipment mounted in it, together with active in-rack chilled-water cooling systems that cater for high density environments by providing spot-cooling within contained aisles and boosting cooling capacity above that achievable with room air conditioning. B-Line By Eaton will also be demonstrating integrated rack intelligence solutions, designed to provide intelligent real time environmental monitoring and managed IT rack security. Knowing what is going on inside the rack envelope and controlling who has access to the space provides users with a level of predictability, helping to improve “up time” as well as highlighting areas for possible efficiency gains.
Throughout Data Centre World, experts from Eaton will be on hand to provide those attending with advice and guidance on selecting solutions for specific applications, with the emphasis on combining energy efficiency with reliability and scalability.
