The PESD3V3 is Suited for Circuit Protection Against Spurious Voltage Surges in Ethernet, Smartphones and Cell Phones, A/V Inputs and Other Similar Applications

TEMPE, Ariz. – ProTek Devices has introduced a double electrostatic discharge circuit protection diode suited for networking applications such as Ethernet, smartphones and cellular phones, audio/video inputs, and more. It provides 25A SSC at 8/20 micro seconds, which is far better than industry average for protecting data lines.

The PESD3V3 is designed to protect communications application from the effects of spurious surges. It is compatible with IEC standards 61000-4-2 (ESD): air ±30kV, contact ±30kV, 61000-4-4 (EFT), and 61000-4-5 (surge): 25A. It provides 400 watts peak pulse power per line (typical = 8/20 micro seconds). The PESD3V3 protects two unidirectional lines or one bidirectional line. In addition, it offers low leakage current of < 2.0 microampere and low capacitance. The rated standoff voltage is 3.3 volts. Operating and storage temperatures ranges from -55 to 150 degrees Celsius. The new diode is RoHS and REACH compliant.

Mechanical, Packaging and Availability Information

Now available, the PESD3V3 is provided in a molded JEDEC SOT-23 package. It has an approximate weight of only eight milligrams. Other key mechanical characteristics include lead-free pure-tin plating (annealed) and a solder reflow temperature (pure-tin Sn) of 260-270 degrees Celsius. The device’s flammability rating is UL 94V-0. It is delivered on 8mm tape and reel, per EIA standard 481, in minimum quantities of 3,000.
