Cymbet's tech allows you to put power storage right at the board where you need it, for applications from timer circuits to triggering in fuses or other systems. He describes the batteries and shows a development kit showing a real-time clock application. The chip batteries are also available with embedded logic to provide micro-UPS-type functionality.
