Burlington school district addresses energy management

As part of its effort to drive operational efficiency and reduce annual energy spend across eight of its schools, the Burlington Vermont School District will use EfficiencySMART Insight from EnerNOC, a leading provider of energy management applications and services. Three of the eight schools are already utilizing EnerNOC's DemandSMART application to reduce energy use during periods of peak demand. The addition of EfficiencySMART Insight will unlock additional savings by identifying high-value energy efficiency opportunities. In addition to powerful analytics and automated diagnostics, EfficiencySMART includes EnerNOC energy analyst support to ensure customers realize the full potential of the application. "Based on our demand response partnership with EnerNOC, we know that they are focused on delivering results, and we're confident that deploying EfficiencySMART will deliver the savings we need to have a meaningful impact on our annual budget," said Terry Bailey, Director of Operations for the Burlington School District. "In addition, because data for three of our sites was already streaming into EnerNOC's platform, the economics and deployment time for EfficiencySMART were even more compelling." EfficiencySMART Insight is a cloud-based energy management solution that continuously analyzes building energy data to identify energy inefficiencies. EnerNOC analysts then work with the schools to develop appropriate low- and no-cost energy efficiency measures, such as avoiding peak demand charges, smarter start-up and night-setback schedules, preventative maintenance, and other changes that have a meaningful impact on annual energy spend. "EfficiencySMART's analytics and reporting capabilities ensure that Burlington School District has the information it needs to proactively manage its energy use," said Tim Healy, Chairman and CEO of EnerNOC. "This sets another example for other school districts to follow. At the end of the day, energy savings mean that more money is available for student services." EnerNOC EfficiencySMART Insight
