The technology supply chain has become a challenging environment, and companies are constantly finding new ways to improve forecasting accuracy and consumer loyalty. Gerry Fay, senior vice president, supply chain solutions at Avnet Electronics Marketing, an operating group of Avnet, Inc. (NYSE: AVT), will be presenting on ways to measure and react to customer demand at the upcoming High-Tech Forecasting and Planning Summit. Taking place April 14 - 15, 2011, in San Francisco, Calif., the High-Tech Forecasting and Planning Summit brings together thought-leaders within the high-tech industry to share best practices in an interactive format. Fay's talk, "Demand Sensing in an Era of Volatility," examines ways to collaborate with customers and suppliers to remove latency in processes, mitigate supply chain risk and optimize inventory investments. "Today's technology supply chain is composed of a complex ecosystem," said Fay. "But measures can be taken to improve visibility and ensure data integrity. We've learned some valuable lessons along the way and have learned to tap into one of our greatest strengths - the unique vantage point that Avnet has within the global technology marketplace." Fay has more than 15 years of industry experience, joining the Avnet team in 2005 as a member of the Avnet Electronics Marketing global staff as senior vice president of global strategic accounts for Avnet United. Prior to joining Avnet, Fay was with Memec and held numerous strategic roles, including president, Memec Americas.
