America Semiconductor 50 Watt Zener diode

America Semiconductor, a leading manufacturer of state-of-the-industry high-power semiconductors, released a full series of power Zener diodes (part numbers: 1N3305 thru 1N3350) packaged in a DO-5 case. The robust 50-Watt devices are engineered to provide voltage regulation protection in a broad array of alternative energy, oil drilling, power grid, welding, HVAC, and transportation applications.

Offered in a ruggedized, hermetically sealed DO-5 package, America Semiconductor's 50-Watt Zener diodes are precision manufactured to withstand such adverse operating conditions as shock and vibration, and are constructed to promote good clamping ability. They feature solderable terminals, corrosion resistant external surfaces, and a cavity-free glass-passivated junction to enhance the reverse voltage resistance and reduce leakage.

The high-performance Zener diodes with sharp kneepoint, low noise and low dynamic impedance, may be ordered in normal or reverse polarity. Polarity is indicated by the position of the Zener symbol on the part. They are supplied in 46 voltages ranging from 6.8V to 200V. Devices' operating temperature range is -65°C to +175°C. Additional specifications include low forward voltage (VF max = 1.5V) and 50 watts power derating (0.5 W/°C above 75°C).
