TDK Corporation announces the introduction of the PXG-M series of medical and industrial 15W and 20W board mount DC-DC converters. Certified to the IEC 60601-1 and IEC 62368-1 standards for Medical and Audio/Video, Information and Communication Technology Equipment, the series has 5,000Vac reinforced isolation between input and output. With a wide input range, these compact board mount converters are suitable for a broad spectrum of medical, battery powered equipment and industrial applications.
The PXG-M series accepts either a 9 to 36Vdc or 18 to 75Vdc input, and is available with output voltages of 5, 12, 15, 24, ±5, ±12 and ±15Vdc. Operation from 12V and 24V, or 24V and 48V nominal inputs reduces inventory carrying costs and improves part availability.
Having the industry standard 1.6x1” package size, the PXG-M measures 40.6x25.4x10.2mm. The operating ambient temperature is -40°C to +105°C, with de-rating above 55°C for convection cooled environments, or above 90°C with forced air cooling. Positive or negative logic remote on-off is optional. Over-current, over-voltage and over-temperature protection is standard on all models. Off-load input current consumption is just 12mA or less, making it attractive for battery powered products.
The PXG-M series has an input to output isolation of 5,000Vac (2xMOPPs) and less than 2.5μA touch current. Safety certification includes IEC/EN 60601-1, ANSI/AAMI ES60601-1 and IEC/EN/UL/CSA 62368-1 with CE marking for the Low Voltage and RoHS Directives. No external EMI filtering components are required for compliance to EN55011‑A and EN55032‑A.
